Melanie Denise
Melanie Denise is a Los Angeles based Creative Director working at the intersection of brand systems, visual storytelling, and cross platform execution. Her work spans consumer brands, live performance, and digital environments, shaped by a foundation in fashion that continues to inform her perspective on identity, image, and cultural relevance.
She began her career in fashion styling and costume design, developing a distinct visual language through editorial, red carpet, and performance work. Over time, that foundation evolved into a broader creative practice, where she now leads direction across campaigns, product, and experience, building cohesive narratives that extend across multiple platforms.
Originally from Baltimore, Melanie’s early work took shape in Atlanta while attending Spelman College, where she managed luxury boutiques and worked closely with emerging artists. She later moved to Los Angeles, refining her craft alongside leading creatives including Brea Stinson and Jason Rembert, contributing to projects involving artists such as Prince, Erykah Badu, TLC, Rita Ora, and Tinashe, as well as editorial work with Essence Magazine.
Her work across film, television, and live performance includes costume design and creative contributions to projects such as Side Effects, JuJu, and The Last Girl Standing, as well as productions within major studio environments. As a member of the Motion Picture Costumers IATSE Local 705, she has contributed to series including Kids Say the Darndest Things, Grand Crew, Long Slow Exhale, and 9 1 1, where she continues to expand her work within large scale production.
Beyond set work, Melanie has toured with TLC and New Kids on the Block, and has shaped personal brand identity for talent across red carpet and public facing moments. Her approach balances precision with adaptability, allowing her to move seamlessly between concept and execution.
In parallel, she has built and led her own brands, including a direct to consumer skincare company and an athleisure label. In these roles, she directs brand identity, product development, and campaign execution, creating systems that translate across digital, retail, and physical experience.
Her work remains grounded in fashion, but extends beyond it, bringing a considered and systems driven approach to creative direction that is both visually refined and structurally intentional.
